Work, Health and Safety Policy
The Sturt Bowling Club Board understands its obligations to provide and maintain, so far as is reasonably practicable, a safe working environment, safe systems of work, and the safe use of equipment and materials to protect employees, Club members, volunteers and visitors against risk to health and safety. It is the policy of this Club to make every reasonable effort to meet the needs of accident prevention, injury prevention and the promotion of the health, safety and welfare of all employees, club members volunteers and visitors to the Club.
All persons in the Club are expected to take all practical measures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment.
The SBC Board will:
- • Undertake to provide a safe and healthy working environment for all employees, Club members, volunteers, and visitors
- • Observe and enforce the relevant acts and regulations that apply to working conditions
- • Provide, via our delegates, information and training in the correct use of all equipment and materials being used
- • Be responsible for the safety, health and working conditions of all employees under their control
- • Rectify and provide for follow up action, on all health and safety near miss, incident and hazard matters as they occur or are observed
Sturt Bowling Club expects workers, contractors, volunteers, and visitors to:
- • Cooperate willingly in the objective of making this club a healthy and safe workplace and follow any health and safety instructions as deemed appropriate by the Board or its delegates
- • Observe and practice safe work methods
- • Ensure that protective clothing and equipment is used as required and used correctly
- • Immediately make safe (if possible) and then report any unsafe work conditions or equipment to the management of the Club
