Winning can be a serious business. The photos capture lots of concerned looks on the faces of the Sturt III team members, and this is a tribute to their concentration on the job in hand, but the scores tell a somewhat different story. Three of the four rinks won by either eight or nine shots for a comprehensive 89-64 victory and the one rink that went down lost by only one shot.
Chair of selectors and team leader, Gerry Dillon, who played in this side for the first time, was immediately impressed not only by the high standard of bowling by both sides, but also by the depth of ability in the Sturt III team.
