This is the time of the year to announce the winners of the Unofficial Awards for 2025. And the first and inaugural Award is for The Best Sunnies Worn by Pennant Players.
By the way, the judges are remaining anonymous; the criteria will remain a mystery; and no correspondence will be entertained.
The outright winner for 2025 is new member, Chris Adam, for his sexy, light blue reflective goggles.
Honourable runners up are Tommy Wise and Brett Lymn, who are featured in the collage with Chris.
Some other players who came into consideration for the Award were Cheryl Saunders, Derrick Witt, Alex Smith, Izzy Trenorden and, if we stretch the criteria to include family members and non-players, his dad Phil.
The big surprise is that Bobby Rutten - who was the best dressed at Winter Bowls and Night Owls - didn't get shortlisted.
Bob probably thought he only needs to set the pace with his clothing; whereas the progressive judges appreciate the emergence of lurid-coloured reflective goggles.
