Some history of Reillys Wines…
In 1993, we bought ‘Reillys Cottage’ in Mintaro and worked tirelessly to restore this heritage listed building to its former glory. Along with the cottage, we bought a small parcel of vineyards in Leasingham and launched our own winery, Reillys Wines, with three wines made in the 1994 vintage—all crushed and made on the verandah of Reillys Cottage.
Our vineyards in Mintaro, Watervale and Leasingham have their own distinctive terroirs of slate and red soil, which help to make Reillys both unique and synonymous with the essence of the Clare Valley.
We believe in a minimal intervention winemaking philosophy, which allows the regional characteristics of our dry grown vineyards to truly shine. Traditional winemaking techniques of hand-picking, open fermentation, hand-plunging and oak barrel maturation are used to help deliver elegance and complexity in approachable, generous wines.
While Reillys has increased significantly over the years to include a Cellar Door, Restaurant and Heritage Bed & Breakfast Cottages, our wines are still handmade by us—with all the passion and enthusiasm of that ‘94 vintage.

Extend your visit by staying for the weekend in our Heritage Bed & Breakfast Cottages. Situated behind the Cellar Door are four recently renovated historic cottages sleeping between 2 and 6 people – perfect for a romantic getaway or celebration with friends.
