Plenty to to be proud about going forward into next season

Alan Catterall, coach of Sturt II on Thursday 26 February was very positive about the team's performance in the game against Rosewater I and over the whole season:

"Sturt II have had a great season by any measure, but sadly missed a spot in finals - but that’s just ‘the luck of the draw’.

"Today’s game against Rosewater didn’t quite go to plan, with all rinks struggling against a very good opponent.

"Not helped when Dave Paley identified one their skippers as an ex State player.

"Conditions were actually quite good, with only the odd gust challenging 'the draw'."

Alan was complimentary about individuals and teams:

"Julie Short continues to impress, leading on Janet Mullin's rink. Definitely a ‘smokey’ for the Ladies Singles Championship.

"Nice to see Lesley Dunstall back in the team after a spell helping out the third side.

"Everyone has improved their bowls through the season: Jenny Johns in her first year was one to impress, and Sue Kasprzak, Diana Frankcom, Wendy Adams, Maria Canala, Sonia Matteucci, Cheryl Saunders all played their part.

"Janet Mullin's rink of Julie, Diana and Wendy won on the day, with the other two rinks down.

"Not disgraced and plenty to to be proud about going forward into next season."
