Dean Buder, team leader of Sturt IV against Hope Valley IV on Wednesday 4 March 2026, said the game turned in Sturt's favour in the second half when Sturt changed tactics:
"The last three ends sure highlight the determination of our three rinks.
"By playing short ends midway through the second half we gained the momentum, and this was the springboard to regain confidence and players to lift."
Martin Fry's rink (of Neville Robinson, John Lampard and Dean Buder) achieved a 19-19 draw.
Peter Mann's rink (of Peter Quick, Jeff Evans and Wayne Berryman) won by two, 24-22.
And Phil McCartney's rink (of Joe Capasso, Gareth Lloyd and John French) also won by two, 23-21.
A tight contest but Sturt IV prevailed 66-62.
