Perfect weather greeted bowlers on Saturday 29 August 2026 for the final Saturday of Winter Bowls—and everyone seemed determined to enjoy it.
To the delight of onlookers, Stephen Jones was back on the green, complete with his meticulous delivery action and trademark dramatic gesturing.
Also making a long-awaited reappearance, Mocha Dunstan was in high spirits, stirring up Frank Sabatino and Wayne Berryman—and even giving Paul Teesdale a hug.
On the same rink, Gill Potter revealed herself to be another of the club's exuberant characters.
At the change of ends nearby, Ralph Hounslow and Joylene Koch also got into the spirit of the occasion, with hugs and plenty of laughter.
And at the completion of their round, Alan Ludlow, Sharon Irwin, Alan Speck and Bobby Rutten exchanged handshakes all round.
Meanwhile, relieved to be no longer stranded outside Broken Hill while attending the Mundi Mundi Bash, Paul Teesdale proudly sported his blazing orange T-shirt from the event.
Still apparently struggling to comprehend how he missed out on the Brightest Male Bowler Award, Tom Morgan once again wore his spectacular 'Tradie Tom' hi-vis top. Sadly, the judges remained unmoved.
It was also especially good to welcome back Joanne Kirby and Derrick Witt after their periods of recuperation. Both immediately looked in fine form.
Hugs, handshakes, colourful clothing, plenty of laughter—and even some bowls.
A fittingly fun day in the sunshine to bring Saturday Winter Bowls for 2026 to a close.
