Wayne Berryman, Team Leader of Sturt IV on Wednesday, found some positives that can be built upon, despite the loss to Kensington Marryatville's strong third team.
" Their skips were all spot on, and as our fourth side we will patiently build our skills and teamwork with more experience.
"Two of our three rinks were very competitive at 'sandwich time', however all rinks faded a bit in the second half against quality opposition."
Wayne singled out for praise the highly experienced John Griffith who "starred as a new number two with the great accuracy you expect."
For Wayne, the most encouraging aspect of the Sturt performance was the obvious 'chemistry' between the team members, despite the score:
"Chemistry within the teams was commendable given scores, and all rinks maintained focus in the first hot day for this season."
The photos from the game display key aspects of this chemistry:
As Wayne says, this precious chemistry plus further experience will build a stronger team.
