Something sparked an outbreak of good humour at Winter Bowls on Wednesday, 15 July 2026.
Whether it was the brilliant winter sunshine, the upbeat music or simply the joy of being on the green, spirits were noticeably high.
The photographs reveal that the mood extended well beyond the club's regular comedians. Even some of Sturt's more reserved personalities couldn't hide their enjoyment.
Jenny Johns celebrated one particularly satisfying bowl with an explosion of delight.
Diana Frankcom seemed to relish her banana snack just a little too much, prompting fresh suspicions that she may, in fact, be the club's elusive phantom banana thief.
Meanwhile, Den Vail looked thoroughly deflated after an unfortunate change to the head but Janine Skurray just kept smiling.
The usual entertainers didn't disappoint. Deane Pye took playful aim at the camera, Steve van der Veen once again insisted he wasn't interested in being photographed, and Shane Ettridge wore his emotions for all to see.
But the day's greatest display of exuberance belonged to the ever-entertaining Lesley Dunstall and Fiona Mansfield, who finished with an impromptu dance routine to "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction."
