Clubhouse Redevelopment Project: Special General Meeting

Dear Member,

A Special General Meeting of members will be held at the club on;

Monday 16th March at 7pm.

The purpose of this meeting is to consider and vote on the following motion;

“That members of the Sturt Bowling Club approve allocating $50,000 towards the construction of redeveloped clubrooms and environs.”

Information Sessions

Two sessions will be run prior to this meeting, and will take members through the plans, including a mock up of the bar / kitchen that was presented to the Board last Monday. We found it both very informative and re-assuring.

Friday 6th March: 3,30-6pm. David McVicar & Jim Trenerry Sunday 8th March: 10.30-12.30. Jim Trenerry

Relevant Background

Following commitments from both the State Labor and Liberal parties ahead of the upcoming election to fund half of the total redevelopment costs, our landlord, The City of Unley, has requested that our club also commits to our share of the project.

This requires an investment of $50,000 to the construction phase of the project.

The City of Unley has its own budget meeting for the 2026-27 financial year on March 25th and requires a notice of our approved contribution prior to that meeting.

In line with our Constitution, all club expenditure in excess of $30,000 requires a positive vote of club members.

I urge all members to attend this Special General Meeting and also the Information Sessions should you have questions regarding the plans.

Best regards,

Rod Ettridge Club President
