As the coolish conditions greeted headquarters last Thursday, in the words of Jay Gatsby "Summer is almost over..." Magnificent bowls again highlighted a spirited night where the sense of finals pending was inexplicitly entranced.
Matt Welsby's Jack's Folly (9th) provided an upset on rink 12 by downing league leaders Completely Biased by 2 shots. Tobias Carter was still mumbling about luck, wind & wicks 3 days later!
Milton Rattigan's Blue Swimmers (17th) were too good for Bruce Linder's Gangsters of Love (5th) that leaves the Gangsters vulnerable. Meanwhile after moaning about being on rink 14, 120Ys (8th) were champion rink defeating Goodfellas (4th) 25-5. Girls With Bowls continued their fine form and Dons upset Phil Scardnigno's Chuffed & Nenz in a tightly held affiar.
Next week the Foxtel rink sees Gangers of Love (5th) engage Leave Pass (3rd) and the 120Ys (8th), being promoted from rink 14 to 13, are battling for Championship survival against 9th placed Jack's Folly.
