Slightly humid conditions greeted bowlers last evening as the semi finals were played out. Next week's grand finals look to be great match ups.
A last bowl drawn shot by Ponderosa (3rd) stalwart Robb Nuus gave them match against Proof Wine Bar BC (5th) and into the Premiership grand final where they match those "old dogs" Easy Rollers (1st) who had the better of Jackie Hammond's Mixers (7th).
The Championship grand final will see Rob Goode's Blue Baggers (16th) take on Tracey Bonney's Calling All Ducks (12th). The Baggers were 6 the better to Jenny Johns' Bias (10th) while the Ducks, on a quarter final best loser ticket, defeated Green Moon (9th) by 13 shots. Cambridge Rollers (15th) overcame EFMrs (13th) by 4 shots and missed a grand final berth by shot difference.
The Excellenza saw 3 closely held semi finals with Fiona Mansfield's Bowled & Beautiful 4 shots to the better of Terry Dixon's Back Enders while Diana Frankcom's Mollydookers (19th) and Matthew Jeffrey's Smoking Grass (21st) were 1 shot winners over Jon Gore's Zigger Zaggers (23rd) & Andrew Bartlett's Bowling Stones (20th). Grand final qualification went down to extra ends with the 2, 1 finish by Mollydookers pipping Smoking Grass who finished 0, 1 - oh so close. So, it is Bowled & Beautiful v Mollydookers in the big one
And in the LaLiga, Bob Rutten's Nomads (27th), 0-6 as at 13 January 2026, lock horns with the Jane Hellier's emerging Crackerjaks (30th). Ros Carman's Bonza Bowlers (28th) were the unlucky semi finalist as their 8 shot win could not match the respective 16 & 13 shot wins by Crackerjaks and Nomads.
Next week's grand draw allocates byes to those teams who have played 2 games in the final series and are playing in next Thursday's, Tuesday v Thursday Challenge. Therefore all 35 teams get a run next week.
Those playing in the Tuesday v Thursday Challenge are Easy Rollers, 8intheditch, Ponderosa, Bungala Wine, Proof Wine Bar BC, Dilligaf, Mixers, Rang-A-Tangs, Green Moon, Calling All Ducks, EFMrs, Royal Routines & Cambridge Rollers. Thanks to these 13 sides
