With part of the Mounty Lofty range looking on, Tuesday Night Owls minor round concluded in chilly conditions last evening.
Champion rink was John Gore's Zigger Zaggers 24-6 on countback from John French's Mixers (22-4).
Diane Fullerton's Strikers claimed their first win of the season with a stirring 1 shot win over Jane Hellier's Crackerjaks. Other close encounters saw Andrew Bartlett's Bowling Stones by 2 over Ros Carman's Bonza Bowlers with the same margin for Diana Frankcom's Mollydookers over Rob Goode's Blue Baggers & Tracey Bonney's Calling All Ducks to the good of Andy Hardy's EFMrs.
Next week we have some ripping quarter finals with the Premiership entertaining Brian Dunstall's Easy Rollers (1) clashing with Christopher Smyth's Rang-A-Tangs (8), Ed Parker's 8intheditch (2) v John French's Mixers (7), Robb Nuus' Ponderosa (3) up against Mick Kelly's Dilligaf (6) and Silvio Marrollo's Bungala Wine (4) locking horns with Riley Harrison's Proof Wine Bar BC (5).
The Championship, Excellenza & LaLiga are divisions of 9 sides with the 7 sides receiving the bye next week having automatic passage through to the week 2 semi finals. Importantly win, lose or draw every team will be scheduled at least 2 games in the 3 week finals series meaning that over an 18 week season, all sides will receive a maximum of 4 byes.
The top 13 as at the end of the minor round will be notified as to their availability for the Tuesday v Thursday challenge on Thursday 26 March. This is a time honoured event and we value your participation.
Here is to continued great bowling.
