We pushed hard but with every punch we threw, Glenelg were able to throw one back

Izzy Trenorden, club coach and team leader of Sturt I for the Semi-Final on Saturday 7 March 2026 said it was "a disappointing day for Sturt I as we battled against home side Glenelg".

"After 20 ends overall, we were down around 20 shots.

"This score-line remained the same through to ends 75 where we’d pegged them back to 15 shots.

"With 9 ends left to play, we pushed hard but with every punch we threw, Glenelg were able to throw one back.

"Being the last rink out, we needed 12 in 2 ends. A rather difficult task, however, we had total control and momentum.

"We were a chance.

"A match saving cover bowl from Glenelg’s skip was the last blow, with Sturt unable to make a 4 or better any which way."

Izzy's mind is now focused on the preliminary final at home, next week:

"We did the hard work during the year to get the second chance and to that end we will as we take on Blackwood this Saturday at home.

"We’d love to see a packed out “Sturtress” this weekend, in our bid for a grand final spot!"
