There was an unmistakable buzz around the greens at Winter Bowls on Saturday, 18 July 2026.
For the first time this season, several members of Sturt's grand final-winning Open pennant team joined the field, adding another layer of quality to an already competitive afternoon.
Among them were club coach Izzy Trenorden, Jack Trenorden and Riley Harrison, who had flown in from Melbourne.
They joined fellow premiership players Jonathan Webster, Alex Smith, Paul Clohesy, Richard Weeks, Tommy Wise, Steve van der Veen and Kym Keane, all of whom have been occasional or regular Winter Bowls participants this season.
Meanwhile Neville Riddle was watching on the sidelines, nursing an injury.
That meant 11 of the 16 members of Sturt's 2026 premiership team were at the club.
As coach Izzy Trenorden observed, "The time has arrived to start preparing for the next pennant season."
