Ever wondered why the gardens and grounds around Sturt always look so well cared for?
A large part of the answer is the Stranglers—a dedicated group of volunteers who regularly turn up to weed, prune, mow, edge, repair and generally keep the club surrounds looking their best.
With Open Day approaching, they were hard at work again on Monday.

Monday 31 August was a big day for the Sturt Stranglers preparing the grounds for the club Open Day on Saturday.
A nearly full crew with Strangler Mullins missing in Scotland, Strangler Puzzle exploring in the far North and Strangler Dunstall AWOL.
Strangler Oerman is on sick leave.
Big job on the leaf menace by Strangler Vanders and Strangler de Jong kept busy installing a new hose reel and providing the extra height to help Strangler Hounslow to replace the damaged windsocks.
Strangler Mocha made sure we had dead straight edges along the greens and demolished part of a wall behind the shed.
The hedges were left immaculate by Strangler Vale. And Strangler Hounslow mowed the lawns to provide the perfect backdrop to the greens.
Head Strangler Pye made sure all were kept busy completing tasks as briefed.
The Stranglers group will be back at it again one the first Monday in October.
