On Saturday 17 October, Sturt III bounced back from a one-shot loss the previous week to record a hard-fought win over Beaumont III at home.
With both sides moving in and out of the lead during the afternoon, the match remained tight before Sturt finished strongly to win by nine shots, with three rinks up.
Report from Team Leader Wyatt Groth
Still smarting from our one-shot loss at Hawthorn last Saturday, Round 2 for Sturt III at the Sturtress was a chance to right the wrongs, this time against Beaumont III.
The greens looked magnificent and the temperature was in the high 20s, but there was quite a challenging stiff easterly to deal with.
Like Sturt, Beaumont has two sides in Division 5, and this was the higher of the two, so we knew we would be in for a tough match.
It was a close tussle between the two teams, with both getting their noses in front at various times throughout the match.
Thankfully, after the final rock was put down, the result was a Sturt III win by 9 shots with three rinks getting up.
The best performing rink was the four of Mullins, Dillon, Bolton and Groth.
They all outbowled their opposite number to record a big win, 27-9.
