The stage was set. On Ed Parker's rink, Sturt VI was down and the skip needed to save the day. At the changeover of ends, the skip, Ed, and the third, Peter Mann, discussed Ed's limited options. With the pressure on him, cool-as-a-cucumber Ed humbly describes what happened:
"We were a few down and I drew in to turn it around to 1 up - I tried to go around a blocker on my forehand with my first bowl and was too heavy - ending up miles past. The second bowl I came inside and found a gap to draw up close to the jack. Definitely a satisfying shot."
Meanwhile, at the head, the normally reserved Peter Mann completely lost it.
