Jackie Hammond, tireless icon

At Night Owls last week, Teesa was full of admiration for leading women's bowler, Jackie Hammond, who was participating at Night Owls that night, following a 2.5 hour club championship match earlier that day, followed by voluntary attendance at one of Izzy's training sessions.

Three different outings in the one day.

And it was a typical hot Adelaide day, reaching 31 degrees when she was at the training session.

This was not a rare effort by Jackie. She has been at the club for many years and is highly respected for her tireless and consistently high-quality performances.

Always composed, respectful and determined, Jackie is a veritable icon of the club.

The collage above of nine photos captures some of Jackie's history:

  • she regularly participates in and has won the Women's Singles Club Championship
  • she also volunteers as a marker for the same
  • she is a frequent participant in Night Owls, Winter Bowls and Izzy's training
  • she plays pennant bowls on both Thursday and Saturday, often as a skip.
