At this time of the year, many people are focused on winning pennant flags or Night Owls premierships or Club Championship titles.
But a few people are more focused on winning the Unofficial Photo of the Year Competition.
One such person is the effervescent Deane Pye, a previous winner of this prestigious Competition.
And he might just have done it again.
A few weeks back he was snapped changing ends during a pennant match, while enjoying a banana - as in the feature photo.
But the photo below takes the cake.
If you look closely, you can see that Deano had not finished munching on the banana by the time he needed to take up duties at the head, as the Third.
So what did he do? He quickly stuffed the rest of the banana into his mouth, creating a visible lump on the left side of his face.
Understandably, Deano was only able to use sign language for the next few minutes, to guide his skip, Alan Ludlow.
Meanwhile, Deano has given his enthusiastic approval to the publication of these photos and the helpful title "Banana Face".
Acknowledging Deano's high-level skills, his banana face was no fluke effort. He won this coveted award two years ago for this scary face during a pennant final at Adelaide Bowling Club:
