Sunny conditions greeted 50 bowlers @ Sturt with the greens in top condition. This is outstanding given the recent heavy rains. On the day, some superb bowls were rolled and much enjoyment had.
Giovanni Spagnuolo on +19 was the daily winner just edging out John Blue on a countback. Cathy Stevens +16, Darrin Smith +14 & Robb Nuus +12 on countback from Karen Esdale were next in the pecking order.
3 bowlers moved into the Wednesday Winter Shield lead via Cathy Stevens, Giovanni Spagnuolo & John Blue. Mick Underwood, Ralph Hounslow & Sharon Irwin are taking close quarters.
Rain is forecast for Saturday which puts play in doubt but here is hoping and hoping we get up and about next Wednesday as we have not had consecutive Wednesday Winter Bowls since April!
