Noal Mullins, coach of Sturt III in the game against Woodville I on Thursday 19 February 2026, expected a tough encounter:
"With many new and emerging talents but short on experience, Sturt III was always going to need to dig deep for a win.
"It was warm weather, a blue sky and a light breeze - great conditions for bowls - but early in the game Woodville took a good lead on all rinks.
In terms of good performances, Noal named names:
"Pamela Rowe's team of Libby Vella, Libby Lock, Catherine Ross put up a great fight.
"Michelle Kirby's team of Gillian Blacket, Karen Hill and Sharon Irwin also lost to a team with more experience.
"Lesley Dunstall's team of Anne Paschke, lngrid Olsen and Di Phillips kept the pressure on for a great win, 24 - 20.
Zooming out, Noal focused on the big picture:
"Our teams continue to learn and improve. This is a learning year for many of our players.
"We have great hopes that next season this team will be very competitive."
