It was gratifying to see past Sturt players come along to support Sturt teams in our recent finals and club championship games. This group includes Jes Gauci, Al Behenna, Andrew Messenger, Jeff Kite and Grant Fisher.
Some other past players who have moved from Adelaide follow Sturt's progress via this website.
This includes a former skip from the Sturt I Saturday team, Ron O'Neill, who moved to Mildura some years ago, where his wife has family.
Ron came to Sturt from Langhorne Creek Bowling Club and is, by chance, the nephew of Sturt Life Member, Leo Fogarty.
We recently contacted Ron to see how he was faring in the Sunraysia bowls world, and it is no surprise to find he is winning many awards:
Showing that he continues to monitor Sturt via this website, Ron was reluctant to be written up at this point in time:
"After such a successful year at Sturt, it would be better to do more stories on the Sturt Finals Heroes".
