This letter of appreciation was received recently from Colonel Light Gardens Primary School for the support provided by our club to its junior bowling team.
Colonel Light Garden Primary School ROLLERS
Thanks to David McVicar, Russell Moore, Matthew Jeffrey and Rod Ettridge for facilitating the opportunity for our SAPSASA school junior team to bowl at Sturt today.
Seven students, aged 8-12, enjoyed a quick tour of the clubrooms before selecting their equipment. Using the training equipment and trialling size 0 and size 1 bowls, helped them build confidence and develop a stronger understanding of technique and control.
It was fantastic to see students quickly gain confidence on the greens, with clear growth in their understanding of line, weight, and delivery as they experimented and refined their skills.
Five of these students will go on and compete at Marion Bowling Club in the Inter School Challenge. We intend to field three teams who will play two bowl triples for 4 ends.
We are grateful for the support from the club and the welcoming environment provided to our students. These experiences strengthen teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship.
We also received positive feedback from families, with one parent sharing: “Thanks for the training today 😊 Lots of fun!” This reflects the enjoyment students gained from the session.
We look forward to returning later in the year with a new group of students.
