Winter Bowls dynamics are different from the seriousness of pennant games or the ultra-competitiveness of Night Owls.
At Winter Bowls on Wednesday 22 April, a rich set of dynamics were on show:
leading the smiley stakes were Ingrid Olsen, Cheryl Saunders, Jenny Johns, Diana Frankcom, Joylene Koch, Joanne Kirby, Peter Mann, Martin Fry, Rod Ettridge, Bob Rutten and Rod Stuart;
topping the stirrer stakes was Steve van der Veen, who on one changeover of ends, made out he was going to land a kiss on Janine Skurray's cheek;
and on another changeover of ends, the tireless prankster Steve reverted to low-fiving with Janine, a technique perfected by our top pennant side on Saturdays;
meanwhile participants pretended to ignore the clash of the Giants - Izzy, Smithy, Bass and Hilly - in their club championship pairs preliminary final, being played in their midst;
and Victoria Kavanagh was very relieved Di Fullerton was absent and didn't nick her lunchtime banana this week.
