Following the moving Anzac Day ceremony, bowlers swung their focus onto chasing a big score on the green.
There were the usual dramas and laughs:
Sonia Matteuci provocatively ate a banana in front of Victoria Kavanagh who is still haunted by the alleged theft of her banana a few weeks earlier;
Tommy Morgan enjoyed pairing with Bron Perry, up against another two top women bowlers, Karen Esdale and Sharon Irwin;
Janine Skurray and Alan Speck sparked each other off;
Adam Hill continually entertained his triples group;
Derrick Witt and Silvio Marrollo had colorful exchanges at the changeover of ends;
Paul Badenoch explained that he couldn't smile for the camera as it would hurt his facial muscles;
Steve van der Veen and Bobby Rutten were meant to be opponents, but acted like co-conspirators;
numerous passers-by on their way to the SANFL game peered through the fence to see the elite action;
and so on.
