Janine Skurray is the second member to be profiled in the new series, Volunteer in focus.
Janine joined the Sturt Bowling Club three seasons ago and it is no surprise she immediately became a prominent volunteer.
At her previous club, Beaumont Bowling Club, she volunteered regularly on the bar and performed as Functions Manager for approximately 3 years.
Janine's main focus at Sturt is bar service and she appreciates the benefits: "I have really enjoyed this role as I have got to know many more members than I would normally meet."
She is not on the roster for sandwich making or making snacks but has helped out there.
Similarly, she has periodically helped out on the bar at Night Owls.
For the last two seasons she has served on the winter bowls organising committee and has enjoyed the role, "under the patient leadership of Teesa".
The photos below say a lot more than words can convey.
Janine brings a welcoming smile and generous nature not just to her volunteering but also to all her activities around the club, particularly when playing in pennants and Winter Bowls and when supporting Sturt teams.
