Winter Bowls resumed in beautiful sunny conditions after many days that had been stolen due to excessive but much needed rain.
58 bowlers presented @ SBC, an acknowledgement that one of our favourite sons had turned 70. Congratulations Steve van der Veen but perhaps his birthday present came a few days earlier when a smart apprentice booted home a 100/1 shot @ Morphettville, but that is another story.
Paul Teesdale +20 had a rare win being truly carried by 2nd Sharon Gray and skip Cheryl Saunders in the triples & Dirk de Jong later in the pairs. Diana Frankcom +18 was outstanding as were the other minor placings via Rod Ettridge +13, Cheryl Saunders +12 and Peter Quick +11.
Alan Speck, Diana Frankcom & Rod Ettridge on +16 saluted with best 2nd round while Dirk de Jong, Bruce Williams & John Blue were lucky draw winners ironically or suspiciously being seated at the same table.
Mick Underwood & Ralph Hounslow are joint Wednesday Shield leaders being chased by host of many!
