Having not played Saturday Winter Bowls for the proceeding 4 weeks and indeed missing 6 of the last 7, the sun shone on Sturt Bowling Club as 52 players presented. This included 16 bowlers from other clubs which was fantastic as they appreciated our greens and continue to enjoy the experience.
Stew Allen was the champ with a terrific +27. Massimo Castiglia (Millswood) was runner up with +26 while Dirk de Jong +22, David Beinke (Millswood) +22 & Darrin Smith (Millswood) +15 filled the minor placings. Best 2nd round went to Massimo Castiglia & Dirk de Jong with an impressive +18. 5 lucky draw winners via Lynne Gard (Millswood), Tom Morgan, Wayne Berryman, Tom Wise & Dean Buder.
Saturday Shield leader is Steve van der Veen being closely pursued by Paul Badenoch, Stew Allen, Alan Speck & Libby Lock.
