The skies were grey, but spirits were anything but, as Winter Bowls returned on Wednesday, 8 July 2026, after a break caused by heavy rain.
The infectious exuberance of the four bowlers on Rink 2 deserved a story of its own in the companion post, "These Girls Wanna Have Fun."
Elsewhere around the greens, the usual suspects kept the smiles coming.
Bronwyn Perry, Di Fullerton, Fiona Mansfield, Cheryl Saunders, Bob Rutten, Maria Canala, Nick Manglaras, Deane Pye, Tommy Morgan, Alan Speck, Steve van der Veen, Silvio Marrollo, Ralph Hounslow and Paul Teesdale all played their part in the day's laughter and light-hearted moments.
Others were all concentration, displaying the smooth, polished deliveries that have become their trademark.
Among them were Cathy Stevens, Victoria Kavanagh, Joanne Kirby, Jackie Hammond, Sharon Irwin, Richard Weeks, Rod Stuart, John Blue, Peter Quick, David McVicar, Brett Lymn, Andrew Messenger and Paul Badenoch.
Meanwhile, the viewing gallery had its own entertainers, with perennial prankster Neville "Puzzle" Riddle and ever-smiling Janine Skurray ensuring there was no shortage of good humour off the green either.
