Greetings punters,
Half Yours won the Melbourne Cup with Jamie Melham and some of my money on board! I know a few of you also shared in the prizes that day, and a number had a good day at the club. Melbourne Cup is special to me, as can be seen on my car number plate: NF 1870. In 1870 my great grandfather Jack Day rode Nimblefoot to win the Cup! Okay, back to bowls and the club... Night Owls has kicked off and a special thanks to Teesa, Matty and Griffo and all the blue shirts that front up year after year and produce what is the envy of other clubs. It also pretty much pays for our running costs each year so that's how important it is. Our Christmas Luncheon is now available for booking and I really encourage you to attend. We've got a brilliant venue, the food will be exceptional, and we only have a little bit of work on the day, so let's enjoy the company and make the day a real winner.
Speaking of winner, it's good to see our rink of the day honors being shared across a number of teams. I hope to soon be able to call "President's Drinks and everyone can share in the spoils!
Friday 28th November sees our top side play Port Noarlunga at 6pm on our mighty greens and it would be great to have a cheering throng of supporters to urge them to victory. A barbecue will be available as well so again, let's make it a winner.
Finally, this is the first newsletter that has come about through the ingenious skills of Karen Esdale and well supported by Wendy Rutten. Many thanks.
Enjoy your bowls, enjoy the club.
