Saturday was a mixed day, and one senses some anxiety as we complete the season halfway mark. As a club we refocus.
The top side got to the line with a 77-70 victory over Ascot Park III and so the momentum continues. The 2nd side fell 7 shots short of Toorak Burnside II; we are now in the relegation zone and so require some grunt that only Sturt is capable of.
Sturt III succumbed comprehensively to Novar Gardens I. We move forward. The 4ths found the going tough @ Kensington Marryatville II, 17 shots short but improvement anticipated.
The 5ths were good, very good. Unlucky not to secure victory but some Frank Sabatino magic secured the tie. Sturt VI found the line by 2 shots, well done to the 12 with the McCartney rink dominant.
And our 7th side struggled @ Marion VI but great to see Hayden and Jenny Johns out for their first Saturday Pennant game. It is always tricky @ Marion but moving forward Sturt VII are resilient, flamboyant and on the up.
