Well, I've certainly experienced a wide range of weather so far in 2026, from the ice in Scotland to the heat in Adelaide. The big news in the past month has been the commitments from both Liberal & Labor to put forward $1m+ to our clubhouse renovations. Well done to Rosalie and also to Alice Rolls as it means we can now confidently go forward with the project. As for the next steps, the Unley Council led Project Steering Committee complete the planning stage this week. I will soon call a meeting of members to take you through both the final plans and also outline what happens from here through to the construction phase and beyond. At some point members will need to vote to give their approval for the club to spend an additional $50k towards the work. That will mean that Sturt Bowling Club put forward in total $100k, City of Unley $950k (to be approved in their budget process), and the State Government the balance with the total project cost being $2.1m.
Back to bowls, it is an exciting time of the season as we have teams on all three pennant days looking forward to finals. Keep the practice up and enjoy the challenge.
