Izzy Trenorden, club coach and team leader of Sturt I against Somerton III on Saturday 31 January, said the conditions at Unley were set up for a positive result:
"A warm and relatively calm day at Sturt, greens a super comfortable 15 seconds, a day destined for a good time."
Izzy also said that "after a disappointing loss to Blackwood on Friday night the team members were certainly ready to come out firing, so we briefly touched on that pre game and made it clear that Somerton needed to earn every shot they got."
"Somerton are a big club, with a lot of depth through their sides. Their third side is no exception - with multiple players having previously played premier league, we were up against skill and experience.
"It was good to bounce back after Friday night. There were some fantastic heads, big bowls played and a great team work rate."
Izzy was the skip on the decisive rink and congratulated his immediate team and the whole group:
"Hank Pelgrim, Paul Clohesy and Stephen Jones all played really well to get the rink over the line with a big win.
"Strong bowls were played by everyone across the four rinks.
"Players were strongly led by the skippers to ensure we were strategically setup and thorough in how we assessed each head."
