Round 4 Saturday Pennants saw all 6 sides come away with victories albeit our Division 7 Central sides received forfeits. The forfeiting clubs have history, and it is shameful that our bowlers raring to go were denied.
Rink of the day was Silvio "Old Fox" Marrollo, Keith "Not So Old Fox" Sinkinson, Peter Hughes and Wyatt Groth. In a 90-67 home victory (2 rinks up) against Ascot Park V in Division 5 East, this rink produced an outstanding 32-12 result. The 3rds move to 5th and will absolutely enjoy the challenge of playing top side Sturt II as the away side.
The top side journeyed to Toorak Burnside I and snuck a 3 shot victory off the backs of Tommy Wise, Nev Riddle, Rach Krebbekx and Al Smith whose 9 shot win was decisive. 2.5 rinks was enough, in 2nd position and we move on to our round 5 home clash with Hawthorn II who are sitting 3rd.
The Magoos were away @ Tranmere IV. On their beautifully running synthetic, a job was accomplished as we came away with a 21 shot victory and now all focus turns to Sturt III (5th) @ home this Saturday. Meanwhile the 4th side were convincing in their 19 shot victory, home to Colonel Light Gardens II. Sitting 5th, we take on Adelaide V (2nd) in a tricky away fixture.
Sturt V & Sturt VI sit 5th and 4th respectively after receiving forfeits last week. Sturt VI travel to Lockleys VI (1st) while Sturt V host Toorak Burnside V (10th) in what will be challenging encounters.
All sides are on top of their games and with prudent recognition we move on to bigger and better things.
