Fantastic scenes in Division 1 North @ Hope Valley I on Thursday were Sturt I triumphed by 15 shots in a telling away win. Inspired by in form skipper, Cheryl Saunders, her rink that also included Jo Kirby, Terry Morgan and Margie Haines were outstanding winning 26-14 and taking the honours of rink of the day. We sit 4th and next week look forward to being @ home when Modbury II (9th) visit.
The 2nd and 3rd sides took to the green in the Division 2 East derby. Both sides played some great bowls with the Magoos being a bit more consistent taking the match 75-43 with all rinks up. Sturt II are top and next week travel to Walkerville I (2nd) in what will be an epic encounter. Sturt III (8th) will host Toorak Burnside II (4th) looking to make an impact. Meanwhile the 4th side fell just shy against Port Noarlunga III to the tune of 7 shots. 2 rinks up was impressive, learning & encouraging, in the tricky to 2 South West division, while 10th we take some confidence in our "waterbag" trip to Happy Valley III (6th) next week.
Wednesday saw our 2nd side claim a significant away win @ Trinity Gardens I by 28 shots off the back of Paul Badenoch, Noal Mullins, Peter Hughes & Wyatt Groth who claimed an incredible 34-3 victory and rink of the day status. 3 rinks up, our 2nd side sit 2nd in Division 3 East and look forward to meeting Toorak Burnside II (5th) next week on our home deck.
Our 3rd side travelled to Holdfast Bay to take on Novar Gardens III. All rinks up and a smashing 51 shot victory, the rink of Peter Quick, Den Vail, Nick Manglaras & John Griffith claimed a 29 shot victory but denied rink of the day honours. Sitting top of the ladder, we square off against Colonel Light Gardens II (8th) in a likely home encounter.
Our top side and 4th side scored emphatic respective home game wins of 18 shots over Hawthorn III & 17 shots over Kensington Marryatville III in Divisions 2 South & 4 East. Great work both sides. The next fixture sees the top side (3rd) travel to Holdfast Bay I (8th) while the 4ths (8th) will press hard away to Hawthorn IV (1st). All sides up on Wednesday was an awesome performance.
Concentrate, your next bowl is the one!
